Awards Ceremony

On Friday, September 13, 8S is hosting an Awards Ceremony. Campaign managers will be recognizing the awesome uniqueness of their fellow classmates by creating an individual award that will be presented in class.

Population Density/Distribution with a little DPA mixed in!

Today over at Bruce Park we began exploring the question WHY DO PEOPLE LIVE WHERE THEY DO? Here are a few pictures of us exploring population density and population distribution.

Pentomino Challenge!

Over the past few days our classroom environment came alive as the students discovered and shared tile shapes. We used pentominos to try and create grids of various sizes. This task proved both rewarding and frustrating at the same time. Here are some pictures of the students in action.

Human Knot/Poison Lake

Over the past few days our class has participated in a variety of cooperative games and activities to help build inclusion and community. Here are a few pictures of the kids trying to undo a human knot and transport themselves across the gymnasium floor without making contact with the tile. In the end only one group was successful, but everyone had fun working as a team!
